Nothing a couple cans of Bondo couldn't fix.

That's a pretty big, flat surface for all that bondo....you'd have to use a snow shovel for a spatula LOL ;-)

I would cut new wood and replace as much as needed rather than creating a new surface with bondo, but to each his own!

I've bondoed much larger surfaces.
I'm not bothering with this one.

What do you guys think? Take what I need and junk it.

You use reference points, and you don't use bondo from Walmart. There is far better stuff out there, it's not as costly. I don't remember the name of the place to get it.

You use the cab as reference, and no need to take it apart. As long as the opposite side and profile of the surface is good. Not the whole cab.

After that I can think of two methods off the top of my head.
Mount a dam to he profile of the cab, matching the original and desired surface. Then screed the bondo as applied, then primer sand and fill... to the desired surface.

Second method, simple but hard to describe. It would use a hand held router to match the surface height. There is a bit to it, but it's not hard.

These methods I would not use on the bottom of the cab.

When faced with that, I would find a cab in better shape. Or take the damaged cab apart, use the pieces as templates to make another cab.
I'm going to do this with a Berzerk cab I have. One side of the cab looks OK to put on a wall. But it had a lot of water damage. I found rusted screws all through the cab.
Besides the whole cab being really wonky.

The more I think about it, I'm leaning toward junking the cab.
Unless someone wants it.

The height reference is the thickness of the plywood. That is fairly consistent the problem would be if the profile was gone.

Arcade cabs are not machining, eyeball is good enough.

I trashed the cab, it was Jawhn's Las Vegas Defender.
It sure was the LV Defender, termites were having a party all over that cab.
I'm glad nobody took it, but I'm holding onto the parts for a little while.

Nope it was dry. They have been gone a while.

It had mold as well, that was looking nasty.

I also trashed my Berzerk cab. It was really out of wack. I swear it must have spent time underwater. I only found one finishing nail that wasn't rusted. One side looks good, so that's going to be wall art in my garage.
I'm going to copy the parts to make another cab. But do some tweaks to the design, since I'm using James's board.
I just need to get the monitor fixed.
